MLV is commonly used as an added “mass layer” inside wall, ceiling, and floor systems to help reduce sound transmission.

What it does

Adds mass to a partition to reduce airborne noise passing through it (conversation, TV, traffic, machinery noise).

Between layers of gypsum board, behind cladding, inside stud walls, or under floor finishes as part of a system.
